The Ministry of Economy and Kyndryl México launched the Digital Education program with the objective that women, young people, Mexican indigenous communities, as well as micro, small and medium-sized businesses (MSMEs) know and use digital tools and processes to promote economic growth sustainable.
In Mexico, MSMEs are an important driver of the economy, since they represent more than 52 percent of the Gross Domestic Product and generate more than 70 percent of the country's jobs.
According to “El Diagódico Digital Mexican SMEs 2024”, published by the Confederation of National Chambers of Commerce, Services and Tourism (Concanaco Servytur), MSMEs that have implemented digital processes increased their number of clients by up to 20 percent, however, only 15 percent It has an effective digital strategy.
Through this collaboration, the Secretariat and Kyndryl will offer a free in-person workshop in Mexico City, highlighting best practices and case studies on modernization and digitalization, cloud utilization, data preparation for the implementation of Artificial Intelligence, as well as as well as cybersecurity and resilience.
There will also be five virtual trainings on the Facebook page of the Ministry of Economy, so that more MSMEs acquire vital skills to thrive in the digital economy and promote inclusive and sustainable economic development.
The head of the Global Economic Intelligence Unit of the Ministry of Economy, Irais Barreto, commented that, within the framework of the Policy to Promote MSMEs and through this program with Kyndryl, the aim is not only to reduce the digital divide, but also foster an environment in which MSMEs can thrive and contribute to the economic development of Mexico.
For his part, the general director of Kyndryl Mexico, Carlos Marcel, said he was very excited to collaborate with the Ministry of Economy and use the transformative power of technology to drive progress at scale and contribute in areas of national importance.
